A Touch for the Untouchable

(Luke 5:12)And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Extract from the book “Just Tell Them That I Love Them”

There are limits to what man is willing to touch
People, who due to their physical condition
Appearance, background, past deeds…even vile deeds
Won’t receive a touch from the most kind person on earth

There are limits
Whether we want to admit it or not
For those who strive to love unconditionally
To be fair
For the most kind
Maybe it’s just a hesitation to connect
A delayed action or response
There may even be guilt for these limits we put on ourselves
The hesitancy
The delay
God does not recoil from touching his creation
Whatever our condition or deeds
